an addiction.

to all things unnecessary.

an addiction to all things cosmetic.

except for surgery.

this weekend was a fine example of how a girl, alone at the mall, and a friendly mac counter makeup artist is baaaad for the bank account. it wasn't all her fault, i did venture to the mall to look for a pair of jeans. when i left, i had no jeans- but three bags of makeup.

it would be different if i needed any of this at all, but i don't. i like so many others, have developed quite a collection. of course the second i got in my car i had some intense buyers remorse. oh well, you only live once. and i hope my skin looks half way decent during said life. thank you, MAC.

Life...

back in action...kind of.

got a computer- didn't end up getting a mac. at the end of the day I'm cheap, and i may be the only person left in the world who prefers (yes i said prefer) my zune (mp3 player) over the ipod (which i did have at one time). long story short, my zune wasn't compatible with mac. So i did some research, and spent a little extra money on a brand of computer i've actually heard of (oh and a two year protection plan/ and some virus protection).

at the beginning of January i was talking to my friend Chelsea about how by the end of the month I wanted to have a new job. My then job had become way to stressful- it just wasn't worth it anymore. And by some grace of God- a great job, at a great company fell in my lab. Its the end of my fourth week- its different, still a pharmacy tech- but on the insurance side for a small independent prescription insurance company. It's has taken some getting used to, sitting at a desk- working monday-friday 9-5. but i'm getting used to it none the less.

you would think with all this stress-free extra time, I would have found time to do some major crafts. you're wrong. I think about it often, i'll sit at my desk day dreaming about pretty paper and pictures, and a brand new sewing maching that needs breaking in. but then i get off work...and a big fat nothing.

i think next week i'm going to force myself to make something, i've been really wanting to make a case for the kindle fire i got a couple weeks ago (new job...new toys). Yes, I WILL MAKE MYSELF DO IT. there, now it's your job to hold me accountable. if i don't make it, it's your fault....(but mostly mine).

and without further ado...a bunch of pictures of life at the moment (because I finally got a new camera).

trying to get organized....not going so well.

also got an instax mini...i love it.

painted this recently. plan on painting another little one to go next to it with the rest of the song lyrics on it. i love adele.

I have a nail polish addiction (and obviously i'm not grrreat at it;))

what a failing diet looks like.

but mostly, life is pinterest and law and order episodes. oh, and teddy.

this is me promising i will post every week. because what else am i doing with my time?

the death of a computer...

means i will be posting even less than that i have been.

lets hope my tax return comes quickly, so i can finally buy a mac and see what all the hub-bub is about.

welcome to the family.

Scrapbooking is something that, 4 years ago, I was obsessed with. I still love it, and I think about doing it often, but I don't make time for it the way that I used to. I even still have a problem where I often find myself in Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Archivers buying scrapbooking supplies I KNOW i won't use in months, quite often.

And as far as crafting goes, I have become accustomed to mastering only the initial part of a craft and then moving on to the next. For example, I taught myself how to knit, I can do the knit stitch, and the purl stitch- but I've never actually knitted anything except for a headband. The same goes for crocheting. That's something that I appreciate about scrapbooking, is that I can set down and have a page finished in 20 minutes if that's what i choose to do.

So that's what i did a little while ago, and while i feel like the page is missing something, it is done for now. My cousin, Paula, got married last May, and this is my favorite picture that i took.

Welcome to our crazy family.

I'm feeling the urge to scrapbook right now, so more to come!

tired eyes.

I never forget i have this blog, and i usually want to blog. But when my eyes are tired, i just can't bring myself to do anything else except looking at other blogs and then fall asleep.

Christmas was really nice this year, but I'm super thankful that it's over. My parents got a divorce when I was 17, and to be quite honest- the holiday haven't felt the same since then. Being able to be with all of my family, all day (no matter how dysfunctional) was definitely something i took for granted. Christmas feels like work at some points, and that's not what it's supposed to be about. Christmas is supposed to be about the gifts right? Just kidding, but while we rejoice in the season, i think we can all agree that making, giving and getting gifts is the funnest part. I am willing to put that out there, and not feel the least bit ashamed about it.

I put together more than one of these headbands, as last minute gifts for a couple family members, and friends. Super easy, and honestly super cute.

I also made 3 of these earring holders out of frames, and window screen.
a couple of my favorite handmade gifts that I received this year would have to be the candle that my bfl (bestieforlife) made, and the lemon infused vodka that my other bfl made. (it tastes like lemon water. bad news!)
and last but not least, my favorite store bought gifts. both from my mom, both things that i've wanted.
the naked pallet from urban decay. in love.

this rose gold watch from relic. i wish i had a picture that actually caught the color of the this watch. so pretty!

and last but not least, after flying to atlanta for 4 days, and then not being home much because of so many things going on...spending time with this guy. you would probably be disgusted with how much i missed him!

hope your Christmas was amazing.
And of course HAPPY NEW YEAR!
